Dancing Figurines – vernissage of an exhibition of porcelain figurines from the Alain Bernard collection

The exhibition is devoted to ceramic (mostly porcelain) figurines presenting a motif of dance. They have been collected by Alain Bernard, who is associated with dance in a special way. Being a great lover of this art discipline, he made it his profession and an object of his versatile interests. Figurines presenting dance and its performers displayed at the exhibition were made by different manufactures from the mid 18th century to the end of the 20th century. Showing prominent artistic abilities of designers and manufactures, they are characterised by a very diversified modelling, each time adjusted to a presented dance and its performer. The figurines were chosen and made available by Mr Jan Stanisław Witkiewicz, a dance art expert and lover who authored a number of books devoted to that art discipline.

Ticket price: PLN 5

The exhibition is on display until 29th April 2007
