CHAPEAU BAS – a vernissage of a unique headgear exhibition

The exhibition organized for the first time in the Lift Art Gallery and in all probability the first exhibition in Kielce organized by the population of the city, and more strictly speaking by owners of beautiful old-fashioned and modern headgear. So, there were old high hats and panama hats, straw hats, lovely hats decorated with ostrich feathers and mohair berets, which are also a part of our fashion.

Many thanks to all great people of Kielce who contributed their items to the Chapeau Bas exhibition.

Headgear – head protection against sun and bad weather, but first of all – a decorative accessory! Because it adorns the head and the whole body. Much like the rest of clothing, it has changed its form and material it was made of. But it always serves beauty, it is sometimes an attribute of power, distinction and even a manifestation of political views.
